Traveling with kids means new experiences, new memories, and new opportunities. It can also mean early mornings with jet-lagged kids, a schedule dictated by naptime, packing, repacking, and hauling a diaper bag, and missing out on dinner reservations with your partner because bedtime is at 7:30.

What if you could have the good parts while minimising the difficult ones? Plane rides are more restful when you can nap because someone is entertaining and watching over the kids. Beach days are much more pleasant when you don’t have to worry about making sure the sunscreen is applied at the right time, or keeping your eyes on your child every second they’re near the water. You can have family time in the morning and then stay for cocktails and grown up conversation while I take the kids back for a nap, so that when dinnertime comes they’re rested, happy, and the house is tidy.

What does a travel nanny do, exactly?

The same thing a standard nanny does, but on the go and much more flexible. I can cook/make bottles for the kids, do their laundry, go grocery shopping, manage diapers and supplies, put them down for naps, handle bed and bath, read books and sing songs with them. But I can also take them out on adventures, and entertain them in the airport ( I have an excellent airport scavenger hunt) or on the train, as well as take them surfing, swimming, or build sandcastles with them. I can even take the “night shift”, waking when the baby wakes, so that in the morning you’re rested for the day. And with one consistent caretaker ready to go, you don’t have to worry about getting a different sitter every night or wondering if your child will enjoy the kids club.

I’ve turned hotel rooms into magic dragon caves and thrown kid NYE parties at 7 pm. I also enjoy planning kid-centred excursions and adventures, so that if you choose to have a grown up focused day you can be assured your kids are having a blast as well.

I care a lot about making trips fun and stress-free for parents and kids, with the safety of the kids as my highest priority. I am not only paediatric first aid certified, I also follow strict water/sun safety, safe sleep practices, and am happy to follow family-specific safety guidelines. I can also provision kids items-sunscreen, shampoo, bug spray, etc.- for the trip so that you don’t have to worry about shopping and fitting them in your suitcase.
