Short Term Nannying

Maybe your usual nanny on is leave.

Or maybe there is a gap between the end of paternal leave and the beginning of your childcare.

Or maybe you are considering a nanny but aren’t sure if it’s the right fit for your family, so you want to trial what it is like before making a long-term commitment or going to an agency.

Regardless of why I am there, to come into someones home and care for their children is a responsibility I take quite seriously. I aim to fit in as seamlessly as possible. It’s important to remember that this is your house, and these are your rules. You can let me know what you are and aren’t comfortable with and how you would like things done.

If you have never had a nanny before, here are some common duties of a nanny:

  • prepping food/cooking for the child and cleaning up afterwards

  • organising and keeping tidy books, toys, and games

  • child related laundry and housekeeping

  • naptime, diapers, child related grocery shopping

  • helping with homework

  • occasional evening babysitting

  • reading books, playing games, singing songs, and going to the playground/playing outside

  • transportation to play groups, sports practice, school clubs, etc.

If you have a usual nanny, I’m happy to step into their shoes and maintain their routines while they are gone.
